Let me throw some stats at you. Most people decide whether or not to stay on a website in less than 10 seconds. Over 80% of people also research online before making a purchasing decision. One third of the stats in this blog post are made up. Wait, what?

You get one chance to make a first impression.

Increasingly, a potential customer's first interaction with your company is going to be via your website - and you've got less than 10 seconds to make it a good one. What impression does it create? Is it like a welcoming, bright and knowledgeable sales assistant, ready to answer any questions and encourage potential customers to buy from you? Or is it a disinterested, flaky part-timer chewing gum and looking at their iPhone while ignoring customers cries for help? If it's the latter, it's going to be costing you sales as people leave your website and don't get to the good bits (that is, the checkout).

It's on you!

The reality of the web is that most users don't want to work hard for anything. With so much content out on the web, coupled with an increasingly skittish attention span of mostgoldfish users, there's no need to really try. The onus is on the website owner to provide seamless UX, an attractive design, great content and anything else that the user desires - otherwise, we're bouncing. After all, if you can't provide it, chances are the next site we visit will. If you aren't going to put in the effort, it reflects on your brand. And it will be reflected in your sales - not just online, but offline too. So make an effort!

Get fixing it now.
